Collective creativity for community flourishing
At Create Your Way Through, LLC, we intersect the power of community and expressive arts to unearth what's truly possible.
What is expressive arts?
Expressive arts is a multimodal approach combining visual arts, movement, drama, music, writing, and other creative processes to foster deep personal growth and healing. It engages multiple parts of the brain simultaneously through creative expression.

Why Adults Need This More Than Ever
Most of us had our last meaningful art class in elementary school, and then something tragic happened—we learned that creativity was a “nice-to-have” rather than essential for human development. Society convinced us that once we became adults, our growth should happen through logic, analysis, and verbal processing alone. Research shows that expressive arts simultaneously engage multiple parts of the brain, creating deeper neural pathways for understanding and empathy that traditional problem-solving simply can't access. We've essentially abandoned our most powerful developmental pathway right when life gets most complicated, leaving us stuck in cycles of overthinking and emotional overwhelm when we could be creating our way through with clarity, connection, and authentic self-expression.

“If you get a chance, DO this! The exercise -which includes gentle but clear disorientation, and moving out of brain to gut and heart- was a powerful form of self-expression that focused on process, not product. It was holy to reconnect with that part of my humanness and giftedness...”
— Elisabeth Jones
Communities can flourish together—we're here to make it happen.
We bring expressive arts directly into existing communities rather than asking people to leave their support systems behind. We partner with faith-based organizations, corporate teams, neighborhood groups, cultural centers, retreat centers, third spaces like cafes and bookstores, and local events to bring healing opportunities into spaces where people already find belonging.
We adapt our approaches to fit each community's unique needs—whether that's grief circles at community centers, intensive retreats, or creative workshops in welcoming third spaces. By collaborating with local facilitators, we ensure communities develop their own capacity for ongoing healing support through expressive arts.
